My name is Yeyly, but my friends call me Yey. I grew up with my mother and two younger brothers. My childhood was full of happy moments. Things changed when my parents separated. My mom, siblings, and I moved, and life became harder. For over a year, my father stayed distant, and we faced many challenges. I had to grow up quickly, helping my mom and caring for my brothers while she worked. These tough times taught me strength, compassion, and resilience.
I’ve faced emotional and spiritual struggles. After a painful breakup, I went through anxiety and depression and felt alone and hopeless. With support from my parents and friends, I slowly began to heal. One of the most life-changing moments was meeting Jesus at a summer camp in 2019. That encounter gave me purpose, healed my heart, and led me to Young Life, where I now serve in ministry. My faith was tested again during a crisis with my brother’s mental health. It was a painful time, but through prayer and support from my church, we saw a miracle. God was our refuge, and my faith grew stronger.
Now as a Developing Global Leader, I study Business Administration at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, with the dream of opening my own bakery. I am the first in my family to attend college. I also serve in Young Life, helping young people grow in their faith. My goals are to become a woman of integrity, serve others with humility, and use my gifts to glorify God and bring hope to those who need it most.
