Yeraudy

My name is Yeraudy and I go by Yara.  I lost my mother when I was just four years old, a memory that still lives with me today. My father became both parents to me, raising me with love, care, and strong values. Sadly, in 2020, I lost him as well. After his passing, I moved in with my aunt and cousin. Their support became a cornerstone in my life—my cousin stepping in as a father figure from day one, and my aunt giving me a home filled with warmth and family.

My journey of faith began in 2017 at a Young Life summer camp, where I met Jesus in a personal and powerful way—what I like to call “Jesus in flip-flops.” My Young Life leader and now like a brother, introduced me to that experience. Though he’s no longer in ministry, he helped shape my spiritual path. I’ve also been deeply supported by leaders whose encouragement and guidance have strengthened me. Inspired by the transformation I saw in others, I committed to pursuing a life centered on God.

As a Developing Global Leader, I study Hotel Management and Tourism at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. I’m focused on doing well in school, growing in my faith, and becoming a better person. I want to grow emotionally and professionally, and become a stable, honest leader who serves others. One of my biggest hopes is to help young people meet Jesus like I did in 2017—He changed my life and is still shaping my future. With God’s help, I want to be a light in my community and show His love through my actions.
