My name is Laysha De La Rosa. My brother and I grew up living with my grandmother after my parents separated when I was just two years old. My mother moved abroad, and though our home once felt peaceful, life brought its challenges. One of the hardest things I faced was watching my father fall into addiction and turn away from God. I struggled with guilt, trying to carry the weight of his choices. Through prayer and perseverance, I have grown in strength, always seeking to improve, serve at home and church, and be faithful in everything I do.
Though I attended church from a young age, I didn’t truly encounter Jesus until I began learning how to build a personal relationship with Him at school. That encounter changed me completely. I realized that worship isn’t just about singing—it's about living a life that reflects God’s love. I started using my talents and actions to honor Him. Joining the ministry helped me deepen that calling. My first experience as a summer camp leader showed me the true impact of serving, especially when I witnessed young people choosing to follow Jesus. I felt God speak to me in powerful ways, confirming that this was where I belonged.
Now as a DGL, I will focus on growing in my relationship with Jesus and serving others through ministry. I dream of opening my own school one day, where children can study regardless of their financial situation, and of supporting youth who can’t afford to attend camp.
