When I was 18 months old, my parents got divorced. After the divorce, my mother started working in a garment factory so I spent most of my early life with my maternal grandparents. I was raised in a strict, religious Islamic environment, with a daily routine that included prayers. The challenges of childhood came to me at a very early age.
Despite the many challenges, I met Jesus while attending a Christian school, where I first encountered the Bible. At first, I was skeptical and was full of questions, but through Bible studies, I began to see God as loving and relational. The real turning point came when I read the Gospels and understood that Jesus gave His life for my sins. I realized He is more than a prophet—He is my Savior. In December 2021, I was baptized, publicly declaring my faith. I connected with Young Life through an online group, where a friend invited me to join a Young Life Club. Later, I met my area leader there and learned more about Young Life’s mission. It became a meaningful community where I could grow in faith, serve others, and walk with them on their spiritual journeys.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am studying English. For me, education is not just an academic pursuit; it is a path to independence, personal growth, and purpose. I also want to keep giving my time and energy to the Young Life ministry, which has helped me grow spiritually and emotionally. I’m thankful for how far God has brought me, and I trust that He will keep guiding me as I work hard toward my goals.
