My name is Gabriela. I currently live in Mexico City as a foreigner, though I’m originally from the State of Mexico. I rent a room in a small one-story house near the university, which I share with another girl and an older woman. My childhood was spent with my younger sister in a small, quiet home. We also spent a lot of time at our elementary school, run by nuns, where I remember the simplicity of life and the joy of childhood games. Although my parents often argued and eventually divorced, I still carry many warm memories from that time.
My journey with Jesus began just over a year and a half ago, at a time when I was feeling lost and empty. I was invited to a Young Life camp, where I encountered love and joy I had never known before. I met Jesus there—not as a distant figure, but as a close friend and Savior. That experience changed my life. It gave me purpose, healing, and a desire to grow in my faith. I began to understand that in Jesus there is transforming truth and freedom. Since then, I’ve grown through discipleship and involvement in ministry, and I now dream of forming university clubs to share Jesus with others across Mexico City’s large University City.
I’m passionate about the Social Sciences, especially anthropology, because they allow me to understand people and cultures. I hope to pursue a master’s and a doctorate, work in academia and government, and publish books that reflect Jesus’s truth. I want to share His love in every space I enter. My greatest desire is to keep growing in my relationship with Jesus, and to glorify Him in everything I do.
