I grew up in Fagba, Lagos, in a family that loved and supported each other despite facing significant financial challenges. There were times when basic needs like food, clothing, and school supplies were not easily affordable. These hardships taught me the value of resilience, hard work, and resourcefulness. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for us, and they inspired me to stay focused on my goals even when circumstances were difficult. Although the financial struggles were tough, they shaped my character and motivated me to pursue education and opportunities to create a better future for myself and my family.
Before Young Life, I knew about God, but I didn’t know Him personally. I was living on my own terms! I was deeply touched by the words of the camp speaker at Young Life camp, so immediately after the message, I said ''Yes'' to Jesus. I got connected to Young Life when I started attending Campaigners and began an identity rooted in Christ. The mentoring and friendships I found there helped me deepen my relationship with Jesus and shaped how I live my life today.
My family and I are very happy and grateful for the Developing Global Leader program, where I will be studying Accounting at Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology. I will be the first in my family to graduate university. Ultimately, I want my education, career, leadership, and ministry to work together harmoniously, allowing me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
