I live in the Jordan Valley with my parents and younger brother. My name has been changed for security reasons. Growing up, my family went through hard times, especially after my parents separated due to infidelity. That experience shaped how I saw relationships and trust. I became emotionally guarded and independent, believing that relying on others only led to pain. For years, I kept my struggles to myself, trying to stay in control while feeling lost inside.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought isolation and anxiety, and things got worse after a traumatic event in 2020. The trauma left me shattered, and I began having panic attacks that sent me to the emergency room. In a moment of vulnerability, I opened up to a friend who invited me to church. There, I met Jesus—not as a distant idea, but as someone real who met me in my pain. He began healing what I thought was broken forever. That journey led me to Young Life, where I found a safe space to ask questions, grow in faith, and become a leader. I learned that even the hard parts of my story could help others.
Through Developing Global Leaders, I’m now pursuing a career in neuroscience. I hope to use my knowledge and compassion to serve others. My prayer is that through my life, people will find the same hope I found in Christ.
