Growing up, I often felt emotionally distant from my family. My sister was older and didn’t spend much time with me, and both of my parents were busy working. While my childhood had moments of joy—especially with a cousin who played with me and made me feel seen—there was little space for emotional connection at home. I learned to give love freely to others, even when it left me drained, because I longed for the care I didn’t receive. That longing eventually led me to the greatest source of love I’ve ever known: Jesus.
In 2016, my parents converted from Islam to Christianity, and that opened a new chapter in our lives. Around the same time, I began connecting with Christian friends through someone in Canada. Despite the time difference, we studied the Bible together regularly, and I felt like God had sent them to guide me closer to Him. Their support helped me grow in faith and discover a deeper relationship with God. Later, I was invited to a Young Life training by a leader who shared the ministry’s vision. I started attending weekly clubs, building relationships with young people, and gradually stepping into leadership.
Today, I’m studying Information Technology as a Developing Global Leader, with the dream of becoming a college professor and earning my master’s and PhD. My goal is to help people in every way I can—spiritually, emotionally, and academically. I want to share the gospel, build lasting relationships, and show others the love of Christ that transformed my life. Through Young Life and beyond, I hope to be a light to others, just as others were to me.
