My parents divorced when I was very young, and my father abandoned us. We had no support and struggled with hunger, lack of clothing, and couldn’t afford school. To help my mother, I began cleaning shoes on the street. Then, God sent a kind Christian family who helped us like angels, and my mother found work. Now, I live in Harar with my mother and two sisters, and life has improved—thanks to God’s help.
I grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until I was fifteen that I truly encountered God for myself. At that age, He touched my heart in a personal way, and I chose to follow Jesus—not just because of my family, but out of my own faith and conviction. I was invited to Young Life, and I’m so thankful to be part of it. Young Life has been a powerful way for me to grow closer to Jesus.
As a Developing Global Leader, my goal is to continue my education, use leadership opportunities with honesty and integrity, and stay focused on serving others. I’m currently studying Information Technology at Lucy College, and I’m the first in my family to attend university.
