David Wanyoike

I grew up in a close-knit family, and while we didn’t always have a lot materially, we had strong values and a deep sense of love. My childhood had its share of challenges—financial struggles, drug abuse, criminal occurrences, family tension, and moments of feeling like I had to grow up quickly. Those early experiences taught me resilience and shaped my perspective on faith, community, and perseverance. At the time, I didn’t fully understand why things were so hard, but looking back, I can see how those moments built strength in me. They also prepared my heart to lean on God, even when I didn’t fully know Him yet.

I met Jesus at Young Life camp during the cross talk. The catalyst for my faith was strengthened through the constant encouragement and prayer in Campaigner sessions and being able to meet with my Young Life leader on a weekly basis.  Now, my past helps me relate to others who are going through difficult times, and it's a big part of why my faith means so much to me today.

As a Developing Global Leader, I’m pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management, which I believe will equip me with the knowledge and skills to serve others effectively. I hope to use my profession not just as a job, but as a platform to uplift others and live out my values. Ministry will always be an important part of my life. I want to be involved in church ministry, missions, or community outreach—wherever God calls me. I trust that with God’s direction, I’ll end up exactly where I’m meant to be.
