Josephine Joy

My name is Josephine Joy, but my friends call me Josi. I live in a small apartment in Freiburg, Germany with another friend who is studying to become a teacher like me. I grew up in a little town near Heidenheim, Germany, with my parents and three younger siblings, two sisters and a brother. My parents are amazing, loved me always and introduced me to Jesus and the church.

I decided that I wanted to give my life to Jesus when I was 17, I started serving in the youth group at church and discovered that I have a heart for reaching young people for Jesus. I then heard about Young Life when I was in the United states serving with a Christian organization called Pais for the year after high school graduation. I am now involved in Young Life in Freiburg as a volunteer leader with middle school Wyldlife.

As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying education at Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat Freiburg in Freiburg, Germany. When I graduate, I want to teach biology and German, and continue to be a tool for God’s Kingdom by investing in people and being a light in schools. I want to continue in my Young Life ministry, as well, and I hope He will show me the kids that I can invest in.
