Erasto

I grew up in a humble and hardworking family. We didn’t have much, but we were close, and my parents always did their best to provide for us. My childhood was filled with both love and challenges. One of the biggest difficulties we faced was financial struggles, but through it all, my family’s faith in God kept us strong. These experiences taught me to be grateful, work hard, and trust that God has a purpose even in the struggles.

I had always known about God, but I didn’t have a real relationship with Him. At the time, I was going through a difficult season I felt lost, unsure of my purpose, and surrounded by pressure. The turning point came when a friend invited me to a Young Life club. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from the first time I went, I felt seen, welcomed, and loved. Through Young Life, I learned that Jesus was not distant. He loved me, died for me, and wanted to walk with me daily. That truth changed everything. I accepted Jesus as my Savior, and since then, my life has had more peace, purpose, and hope, even during hard times. Young Life became a family to me and helped me grow deeper in my faith and leadership.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am studying Medical Laboratory Science and will be the first in my family to graduate from college. My goal is to use my knowledge to improve lives, especially in underserved communities where medical services are limited. I want to continue being involved in Young Life, mentoring younger students and helping them grow in their faith. Whether I’m in a hospital, my community, or with Young Life, I want to be a light for Christ and use every opportunity to point others to Him.
