Cherish

As an only child, I often felt lonely. With no siblings to play or share chores with, the house felt quiet, and I became withdrawn from people. That began to change when I joined Young Life. There, I met caring leaders who welcomed me and gave me space to express my understanding of God's Word. Slowly, I began to open up, build friendships, and connect with others. I realized that even though I didn’t have biological siblings, I had found a family in Young Life club and Campaigners. It brought me joy and a deep sense of belonging I never knew I needed.

I met Jesus through a teaching at church in a message about the joy and rewards that come with serving God, and it stirred something in me. I made up my mind to serve God fully, but I learned that true service begins with surrendering to Jesus. So I took that step and gave my life to Him and that decision changed everything. I first heard about Young Life through a Young Life leader who invited me. At first, I was hesitant and didn’t think much of it, but I eventually decided to give it a try. That simple invitation led me to a journey of faith, friendship, and growth I never expected.

I am attending Wellspring University and studying medicine. I will be the first in my family to graduate from college. Through the Developing Global Leaders program, I hope to complete my studies with good grades and grow as a leader. I want to become a medical doctor and reach out to teenagers so they can meet Jesus too. I hope to grow in ministry, especially as a woman in leadership, and help others walk with God just as Young Life helped me.
