Eunice Bayá Torrico lives in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. She shares her home with her parents and three siblings. During her childhood in Santa Cruz, she faced difficult times: she was rejected by her environment, she was bullied at school, and her father was diagnosed with cancer. During this crisis, while her mother spent many hours in the hospital, her grandmother was a great support, helping her to recover her self-esteem and to feel God's love.
As a teenager, Eunice went through a deep emotional crisis marked by anxiety, depression and aimlessness. She felt invisible, aimless and worthless. However, it was amid this pain that she began to draw closer to God in a more intimate way. Prayer and the company of key people were instrumental in her transformation process.
Her connection with Young Life began when a friend invited her to a club. From the first meeting, she felt welcomed and loved. At eighteen, she stopped attending as a participant and joined as a volunteer. She enjoys seeing how young people are transformed by God's love. Her role not only allows her to share her faith, but also to listen, encourage, and accompany others in their processes.
As a DGL, Eunice is starting her first year at UTEPSA University, where she is studying Marketing and Advertising Engineering. She will be the first to go to college in her family. Through Young Life she wants to accompany all those young people who feel aimless and help them discover their true value and purpose
