My name is Areg, I grew up in Armenia with my mother, who raised me alone after my father passed away when I was six. She gave me a joyful and loving childhood. I was an active child, but at age ten, I was in a car accident that left me unable to walk for three months. With time and support, I recovered. Growing up in a warm and supportive community helped shape who I am today.
I got connected to Young Life through friends. At first, I came just to have fun and enjoy the community. But during a Young Life camp, I experienced God’s love in a real and personal way. The leaders made me feel seen and accepted. That moment changed everything — I found peace, purpose, and a strong desire to grow in my faith. Since then, I’ve been walking with Jesus and growing closer to Him each day. I serve at local team as a leader, I enjoy creating a fun and welcoming space where kids can have a good time and hear about Jesus.
Now as a DGL student I'm earning a degree in Engineering and Computer Science at National Polytechnic University of Armenia. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university. I want to finish my degree and become a skilled professional to build a strong career and help others. I hope to use my knowledge to solve real problems and make a positive impact. I also want to grow as a leader, I enjoy creating fun and meaningful experiences for kids and want to keep learning how to serve and lead with love. Wherever I am—at church, in Young Life, or at work—I want my life to reflect Jesus and be used for His purpose.
