My name is Karoline and I live in Oslo with my family. My family has always been supportive and been my biggest supporters through my childhood. I have always been a social person, but I haven’t always had the best environment with friends. I really wanted one best friend when I was younger, but I never got that. I was invited to the local church through my confirmation and ended up meeting real, good people who met me with unconditional love. In the local church I got a good and inclusive environment with people who wanted to get to know me as who I am.
I did not grow up in a Christian family so I learned about Jesus by spending time with my leaders and the other teenagers at my church. I was invited to the Young Life camp and I found new friends and decided to see what Jesus could do in my life. He gave me a peace and now I am a volunteer in Young Life with high school and middle school students.
As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying social work at the Oslo Met University in Oslo, Norway. When I graduate, I want to be a social worker, help people and make the world a better place. I also want to continue volunteering with Young Life and help people find their peace in Jesus.
