My name is Diana, and I live in Cluj, Romania, with my parents and brother. As the oldest daughter, I always tried to help because I felt that it was my responsibility to keep things balanced in the family. I like being there for others and making their lives easier. That is also why I was afraid of making mistakes as a child, and I did not want to be a burden. At some point, I even started praying that I would not make mistakes.
I started going to church to spend time with my grandmother. It felt like a way to be close to her and make her happy. However, I began to understand that it was something much deeper, and I started to see how much I needed God. When I joined the youth group, I met people who encouraged me, and I began to grow more in my faith. God gave me a new confidence that comes from knowing that I am loved even when I make mistakes. I then started volunteering with Young Life as a leader.
As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying mathematics. I aspire to become an architect, not just to design buildings, but to create spaces that foster community and growth. Alongside my career, I am deeply committed to leading others in their faith. Through the DGL program, I hope to guide others, showing them the same love, hope and encouragement that I have received. My goal is to serve others both as an architect and a Young Life leader.
