My name has been changed for safety reasons, as I come from a Muslim country where people with Christian beliefs are not accepted. I was raised in a Christian, religious family from early childhood. When I was eight years old, my parents got divorced, and my mother raised me and my younger brother on her own. Until my teenage years, I went to church with my mom and even took part in different ministries, but I never truly knew God. Eventually, I stopped going to church, fell into addictions and depression, and completely lost the meaning of life.

During that time, a classmate invited me to a Young Life club. There, I found myself. I came to truly know who God is — and that changed everything in my life. Now, all I want is to serve God and show others that He is the only Savior. I’m passionate about spreading Young Life in my city and nearby towns, and I dream of starting a Capernaum club in one of them.

I don’t see myself doing anything apart from serving God. Even when choosing a university, I wasn’t looking for something trendy or prestigious — I wanted a program that would help me serve and know God better. Because this is deeply needed in my country, I am pursuing a degree in theology at a local seminary as a DGL student. This education will allow me to officially become a pastor and share about Christ with fewer restrictions.
