Yuliia

My name is Yuliia, I live in a city called Ostroh, where I moved to study. I was born in a small village without schools or kindergartens, so I traveled to the city to study. My parents worked in civil service, but with modest incomes, and we often faced financial difficulties. My grandmother’s support-- both material and emotional, made a lasting impression on me. My father struggled with alcohol, and when I was eight, my mother bravely decided to file for divorce. Though it was a challenging time emotionally and financially, my mother’s love and support helped me understand my worth. We still have a close and warm relationship.

Although I didn’t grow up in a religious family, I began learning about God through church events and camps after a Christian family moved to my village. At age 12, I invited Jesus into my life during a youth conference, and everything changed. Since then, my heart, thoughts, and friendships have transformed. I discovered Young Life through social media and quickly joined. After moving to university, I founded a Young Life College club where I engage new members and invest in our current leaders. I look for resources and collaborations, present the organization to others, and build relationships with students, trying to show Christ through my life.

I’m currently studying psychology and will be the first in my family to graduate from university. I dream of becoming a psychologist to help others find healing and hope. I feel called to serve youth, support military families, and be a light in my community. Above all, I aim to grow as a leader who serves others with love and purpose.
