Cristian, known by his friends as Cris, is a young Colombian who currently lives in Tocancipá, with his mother and two sisters. His childhood was marked by great challenges: when he was only seven years old, his parents separated, and since then his mother had to raise three children alone enduring many economic difficulties. They lived in more than ten different houses, constantly moving from rental to rental. Although he always felt a great passion for soccer, he was never able to attend sports schools due to lack of resources. From a young age he also worked during school vacations in the fields to help out at home, which taught him the value of effort and resilience.
He got to know Young Life through a friend who invited him to a club for the first time, and from that moment on he was captivated by what he experienced there. Little by little, he became more deeply involved until he became a leader. Cristian recalls that one of the most important moments in his life was the day he decided to open his heart to Jesus, something that profoundly transformed his life and his relationship with others, especially his mother.
As a Developing Global Leader, Cristian is studying Sports Management at UNAD in Bogota. His dream is to be able to work in a sports-related organization, ideally in the world of soccer, and thus apply everything he has learned to become a great professional. His desire is not only to progress himself, but also to be able to inspire other young people, share God's love and one day contribute as a donor to Young Life.
