My name is Judith. I live in Accra, Ghana with my parents and five siblings. I am the second of the six. I grew up watching my dad find it very difficult to take care of all six of us. My senior brother, who is the first child, couldn't write his final exams in high school because my dad did not get enough money to pay his final exams fee. My brother had to go to the streets and struggle to fend for himself and to support us a bit. My brother didn't have life easy at all and that time my dad didn't have a stable job to sustain the family.
I grew up from a strong Christian family. My mother was a very committed Christian who never left us behind when going to church. This made us rooted deep in our faith. She taught us to keep on having faith in God and one day God is going come through for us. My life nearly took a turn when I went to high school. Friends lured me into engaging in ungodly acts, but thanks to the strong teachings I received at church, I never fell for those traps. I was connected to Young Life through my senior brother, who is a volunteer area leader. I joined his club and after some years of training and learning, I started my own club.
Thanks be to God that despite our struggles and hard times, I have enrolled at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. I am studying chemistry with the dream to become a doctor of pharmacy and to be an inspiration to others. I want to come out as the best student and with the best grades. I want to continue serving as I can in whatever role I am given.
