My name is Eymi and I live in San Rafael del Norte, Nicaragua. My family is quite loving, and I have not had many setbacks in my childhood. Since I was very young, my parents have shown me their love and unconditional support, which has helped me to grow in a positive way. They have always emphasized the importance of my studies and have expressed the potential they see in me to be a great professional. I am grateful that my parents continue to show me that I can trust them and that they will always be there for me.
I met Jesus when I was very little. My parents have always attended the Catholic Church and have helped me to know about Jesus. However, my relationship with Jesus became personal when I went to my first Young Life camp. Through discipleship and my devotional time, I have grown in my faith and been able to establish a relationship with Jesus. My faith has increased as I see how Jesus works in my life, in my family, in my Young Life team and in the young people that we are leading to him.
I see myself as an active professional and as global leader, and just as the Developing Global Leaders scholarship has supported me, I hope to offer support and help wherever it is needed. I am studying medical technology at Commander Father Gaspar Garcia Laviana National University. I have a heart willing to serve, hoping to have a great impact on young people and be an example in my community.
