My name is Edgar, and I live with my brother in the Kharberd village in Armenia. As teenagers, we lost both of our parents. When my father passed away, my brother was serving in the military, so I did my best to take on the responsibility of being the man of the household, helping my mother. Unfortunately, shortly afterward, our mother also passed away, and not long after, I was sent to the military. God has remained faithful despite incredible losses and living in challenging conditions. When things seem overwhelming, I remind myself of the truths in Isaiah 40:30-31. When I am feeling faint and weary, the Lord renews my strength.
I have always known about Jesus Christ but did not take a genuine interest in Him until Young Life camp. The speaker's message about Jesus deeply touched my heart, leading me to understand and accept the gift of His sacrifice. I realized God is the only path to a hopeful and joyful life. Now, I am indescribably grateful for His presence in my life, and I strive to do my best for the kingdom of heaven through my service. I know He loves me, and I witness His presence in increasingly tangible ways. Currently, I oversee the football ministry at the center club, where I strive to lead youth to Christ.
As a Developing Global Leader, I attend the Armenian State Institute in Yerevan and seek a degree that will allow me to be a football coach. This is an ideal career because I believe young people need Jesus more than ever. I aim to become an effective coach, using the sport to build friendships, earn trust, and share the message of Jesus. In all my endeavors, I cherish God’s plan for my life and trust He will guide me according to His will.
