My name is Anmol, and I live with my parents and sister in South Asia. Growing up, we were raised in a Christian home, but faith was not without its cost. My father was from a Buddhist background. When he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he was persecuted by his family. Seeing no possibility of staying in the same village, he left home and moved to a new area to begin a Christian ministry. As a minister, it was hard for him to provide for our family's needs and managing household expenses and school fees proved difficult. Through his strong faith and hard work, I witnessed firsthand the importance of standing up for something you believe.
Even though I was born into a Christian family and had been hearing about the Gospel of Jesus from my childhood, my personal journey with Jesus began as a teenager. Previously, I was living in the ways of this world and was not truly following God’s words. One night, while praying during the family devotional time with my father, I realized how I lived was hopeless, and I needed a relationship with Jesus. My father led me in a prayer, and from that moment on, I began my personal walk with the Lord. I knew I wanted to share my faith with others. Gratefully, I serve as a volunteer leader in our Young Life.
As a Developing Global Leader, I attend a local university and will earn a software engineering degree. This will allow me to build a better life for my family and create a brighter future for others in our community. I will also continue to lead in Young Life and in my church, praying to serve the Lord and further the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
