Originally from Ukraine, Artem is an engineering and computer science university student in Brno, Czech Republic. “I grew up in Kyiv, in a family that did not believe in God or place any importance on faith. As a child, I was considered a bit of a troublemaker, often resisting school and misbehaving, though I was always willing to help when asked.”
His path of faith began around the age of fourteen. “At church I was introduced to a ministry called Young Life, which was preparing for a camp. My friend was also going, so I decided to join out of curiosity. At the camp, I learned more about Jesus—who He is and why He was alive. On the last day, we were given the opportunity to start living with Christ, and I realized that this was a better path than the one I was on. From that moment, my life began to change. I was invited to help with Young Life, and I eagerly agreed because it was both interesting and fun. This experience marked the beginning of my journey with Christ and a shift in my life’s direction.”
Life and war have taken Artem on an unexpected journey, and today he finds himself as a Developing Global Leader studying at two universities, one in Brno and another in Kyiv, pursuing a degree in civil engineering. “I aim to be someone who can listen, understand, offer advice, and help others. In every aspect of my life, whether in my faith, studies, work, or relationships, I am committed to learning and becoming the best version of myself, guided by the principles of love, responsibility, and faith in God.”
