Hana

Hana lives with her two brothers and mother in Sendafa, a primarily agricultural town in central Ethiopia. Life in Sendafa is challenging. Living in poverty, resources are limited. Inadequate to non-existent healthcare, famine, political conflicts, and refugee issues make life in Ethiopia one of hardship. Yet, even amid all these factors, Hana remains positive. When asked about her childhood, she describes it as "good" because she had "a relationship with God" from a young age. In an area facing such distressing issues, Hana’s faith is significant in providing hope. She began her relationship with the Lord as a young child and has continued to nurture her faith through prayer and scripture. As an active member of her local church and a Young Life leader in her community, Hana sees value in having a servant’s heart. Whether singing with her church’s praise team or spending time with youth in her area, she feels called to use her time and talents to share the Gospel. Now, through Developing Global Leaders, Hana is pursuing a degree in business economics. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a heart for those around her, Hana aspires to open a business to support her family and provide opportunities for the struggling community. Despite the numerous reasons for despair in the region, she remains unwavering in her determination to make a positive impact. In her role as DGL, she will have a significant local financial impact and joyfully spread the good news of the Gospel to everyone around her.
