Sara

Sara is a hard-working young woman from Harar, Ethiopia. She was born into a family of seven children. Resources were always a challenge for her family, however, the value of persistence and diligence were established from a young age and continue to define Sara.

Sara is actively involved with her church, serving with the youth and in the choir. She shares that her the catalyst for growth in her faith occurred when she “began reading the Bible and came to understand Jesus as the Lord.” Sara was invited to Young Life and began serving in the ministry, offering her whole self to students in her community. She is described as, “an excellent volunteer leader who excels at giving talks at club and creating games for kids. Sara is highly engaged and motivated and has a great love for kids and teaching.”

With support from Developing Global Leaders program, Sara hopes to pursue computer science at Harar Polytechnic College. She is eager to develop her skills and is an avid learner. Sara is compelled to pursue a career that enables her to join hands with her sister in providing support for the family and is dedicated to sharing about the love of Jesus in her community.
