My name is Siréna, and I live in the town of Guediawaye, Senegal. My home is happily crowded as we live with my parents, siblings, and cousins. I can say that I had a blessed childhood because my family lived in harmony. We lived by the principles and values instilled by my parents, whose unity, good communication, and love were essential to them. Our family has a team spirit that makes us feel that no matter the situation, we will be okay if we stick together. This is not to say we did not have hardships. There were seasons of poor health and little to no money. We learned to rely on one another in these times which strengthened us.
Although I grew up in a good home, something was missing. It was not until a classmate was sharing from the Bible at recess that I became intrigued and, after hearing more about Jesus, knew that I both needed and wanted Him in my life. From that day forward, I began to attend church and accepted an invitation to Young Life. The warm welcome I received from everyone was wonderful. I believe that Jesus is the best example of true love. As a leader, I am thrilled when I tell others about my Heavenly Father. It is a joy to live life experiencing and sharing the certainty of His love.
As a Developing Global Leader, I will be the first in my family to graduate from college. My vision is to become a lawyer and help others manage and resolve situations peacefully and respectfully. My personality allows me to be honest with people, earn their trust, and give them wise advice. My goal is to care for others well and share Jesus' love with them.
