Sabine

My name is Sabine, and I live with my brothers and mother in Dakar, Senegal. My father is alive but not with us; the last time we saw him, he told us we were mistakes. An enormous challenge of my childhood was trying to prove him wrong and show that my life had meaning. Fortunately, our mother is the hero in the family and manages to provide and care for us. She taught us to respect others and ourselves and to support and love each other and her work ethic and resolve to provide a better future for her children is unmatched.

Rejected by my father, it was the most incredible day of my life when I discovered I had a Heavenly Father who loved me unconditionally, and would never abandon me. In His eyes, I am not a mistake. I was known and loved even in my mother’s womb. It is with great humility that I can empathize with those who suffer. I am grateful to serve in my church and as a team leader in our Young Life club.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am currently enrolled at AFI-University of Enterprise in Dakar, pursuing a degree in economics and management with a focus on quality hygiene and environmental safety. This is a highly sought-after degree, and I will be able to provide a better life for myself and my family. I will make our community safer for others and have ample opportunities to share the Gospel as I visit each site. The Lord has given me a servant’s spirit. I want to honor Him in all I do and share what a blessing it is to have Him as my Heavenly Father.
