My name is Loïc. I live in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in a dorm room at my university with two friends I met through Young Life. During the weekends and holidays, I stay at my parents’ house in Pietrain with my youngest brother; I am the middle of three brothers. I grew up in a loving family that taught me about Jesus. I was very shy as a child and did not want to get any attention for fear of judgement. Also, I struggled with being tall because I felt like everyone saw me all the time. Through God, I gained a lot of confidence, and He made me realize that I am unique. I now love being tall, and it is the perfect icebreaker when I speak to new kids at Young Life.

I grew up in a Christian family and believed in Jesus from a young age. My brother invited me to Young Life and at Young Life camp, I realized how much I needed God in my life. God showed me it was possible to overcome my fear of judgment from others by surrendering and giving my heart to Jesus. I am now a Young Life and WyldLife leader and I am on the communications team and continue to be involved in my childhood church.

As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying science and medicine at the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. After graduation, my plan is to be a physiotherapist and help people recover and heal from their injuries. I want my work to be a testimony for God as I continue leading Young Life kids and creating genuine relationships with them as we talk about God.
