My name is Chau and I live in Vietnam, with a family of three generations: my grandparents, parents and older sister. My family is a Christian family. When I was young, my family had problems with the church's religious organization so they left the church, and my father founded a small church. It was a difficult time because we were new and small. We prayed together a lot and God listened and answered us. He gave us a stable place to worship Him, even if it was not as big as traditional churches.
However, after leaving the church, I was gradually becoming distant from God and spent little time with Him. When I realized this, I prayed to God a lot and asked for forgiveness and to avoid temptations. I pray for God to protect me in everything so that I do not stray away from Him. I love walking with students and sharing the love of Jesus with them.
Now, a part of the Developing Global Leader program, I am a Young Life volunteer and am studying English at a local university. I want to become an interpreter for the church, and help people communicate better. Through my speech, I would not only like to help people understand each other but also understand Jesus better. I want to have the opportunity to connect, work, and study with Young Life more in the future. I am committed to talking about God to young people and expanding my community.
