My name is Levis, and I live in Muranga County, Kenya with my grandmother and my two siblings as well as my four cousins. My parents orphaned me at age nine, which left me embittered toward them; I blamed them for all the challenges I encountered in life. However, God has been faithful and I have seen His provision through the scholarship given me to complete my high school studies and later through a job which enabled me to start supporting my grandmother.

My journey to overcoming anger, bitterness and regret began when I gave my life to Jesus Christ at a Young Life camp. The speaker shared about forgiving others as much as we desire to be forgiven. I forgave my parents and have felt relieved since then.  I find interaction with people my greatest strength and I am outgoing and enjoy having fun conversations with new people and friends. I am grateful to use my gifts as a Young Life leader to create opportunities for relationships and to share about the love of God with others.

With support from the Developing Global Leaders program, I hope to pursue a science and math education degree at Kirinyaga University. My goal is to expand the Young Life boundaries in my area and reach more kids with the Gospel. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
