My name is Marta and I enjoyed a happy and secure childhood. However, when I was eleven, my family faced a series of losses, starting with the deaths of both my grandfathers, followed by the tragic passing of my cousin and the placement of my grandmother in a nursing home. Those years were incredibly difficult as we began to lose the pillars of our family.
For awhile, I felt spiritually lost, wondering if God had abandoned us. It wasn’t until I was fifteen that I truly reconnected with God, despite knowing of His existence all along. When my family decided to attend a new church, initially I was hesitant and worried about losing my friends and feeling out of place. However, in this new environment, God used the youth leaders to draw me back to Him. It was here that I first learned about Young Life. After attending a Young Life camp that summer, following the death of my grandmother, my life and my brother's lives were transformed.
Now, as a Developing Global Leader, I am pursuing a degree in education, along with some courses in psychology. I chose this field because I see a growing need for support among young people during their educational journey. My goal is to be a light in their lives, offering support and encouragement, as I believe God has called me to this path for a greater purpose beyond just career ambitions.
