Shuvro

My name is Shuvro and I live in a city in South Asia with my parents. My story began in hardship as a young child. Between the ages of two and four years old, I struggled with many physical illnesses. My family had to sacrifice a lot because of this. They became helpless in order for me to receive proper treatment. My father took great pains to sell the plot of land that we had so that we had money for treatment. After my illness was healed, I gradually grew up and started living a normal life like everyone else.

One of my biggest challenges as a Christian was trusting Jesus completely. There is a large Hindu community around me and my family, however, my family and I are Christian. A question we often hear is, “What is there in Christ?” The questioning of others helped me become interested in knowing God better myself to have an answer to share. I started reading the scriptures and prayed to God a lot, and eventually I grew to fully believe.

Now, a Developing Global Leader, I am studying social sciences at a local university and eventually want to become an entrepreneur. I also am interested in becoming a good fundraiser at work in God's kingdom. I currently am a Young Life leader and I love to worship, pray, and read the bible with teens from my area. My leaders would describe me as someone who prays consistently. I hope to develop into a passionate and courageous leader through the DGL program and upon graduation, I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
