Nyampu

Nyampu lives in the Kakata district in Liberia, one of Africa’s oldest republics founded by freed American and Caribbean slaves. Despite being built on hopeful ideology, Liberia has gained notoriety in recent decades due to long-running, ruinous civil wars that have claimed over a quarter million lives. The aftermath of these conflicts left the healthcare, education, and housing situations in a horrendous state, directly impacting Nyampu and her community. Despite facing challenges, Nyampu is fortunate to have a loving aunt who plays a vital caregiving role in her life. Her aunt's support has positively influenced Nyampu's upbringing and continues to guide her toward a promising future.

In fact, it was Nyampu’s aunt who introduced her to the most significant relationship she would ever experience – her profound connection with her Creator. Her aunt's example of a servant's heart and strong work ethic greatly affected Nyampu's life. Currently, Nyampu teaches a youth Bible class, sings in her church choir, and volunteers as a leader with her local Young Life. Her unwavering passion and determination continue to make a significant difference in the lives of those in her community.

As a Developing Global Leader, Nyampu will attend the University of Liberia in Monrovia to earn an accounting degree. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a servant’s heart, Nyampu aspires to open a local business. She sees the business as more than a means to stabilize her family financially. She envisions it as a place where she can care for those in her community on a larger scale by providing employment opportunities and sharing the Gospel.
