Guy Moïse

Hello, my name is Guy, and I come from the small town of Bwiza in Burundi. It is where I have experienced both joy and sorrow. When I was young, my siblings and I were rejected by our parents. I felt like a burden, something to be cast away thoughtlessly. We had to fend for ourselves for a while, learning how to survive on our own. Fortunately, our aunt learned of our situation and took us in. This is where we live today. She works tirelessly to provide and always encourages our pursuit of education and growth in our faith. Her intervention in our lives was both life-saving and life-giving for us.

During my youth, I began to understand the depth and importance of my personal faith. I began attending Young Life, where I discovered the transformative message of the Gospel. I remember the day I accepted Christ as my Savior. It was when I heard about unconditional love and grace. At that moment, I felt a deep sense of peace and purpose come over me. A weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I knew my life would never be the same again. I knew with absolute certainty that I was loved and wanted by my Creator. Since that day, my faith has been the cornerstone of my life.

As a Developing Global Leader, I am determined to be the first in my family to earn a college degree. I will attend Université Sagesse d’Afrique to study business finance and aim to become a leader in my community, inspiring others to pursue their dreams. With faith, support, and determination, I am confident in making a lasting impact on the world.
