My name is Tanny, and I live in South Asia with my parents and brother. My childhood was very colorful and happy. My father and mother cared for me and did their best to provide what was needed. Sometimes, there were financial problems, but despite those struggles, we remained joyful. My father's role in our community is as a pastor, and much of our community looks to him for spiritual guidance. As a child, I struggled with envy and often lied to fit in with my peers. It was not until my teenage years that I understood that I needed and wanted to seek a personal relationship with Jesus.
I became involved with Young Life through a close friend at a youth event. Seeing my peers laughing, praying, and having meaningful conversations in small groups inspired me to start prioritizing prayer, reading the Bible, and connecting with others. This decision was transformative. Developing a personal relationship with Jesus changed my life completely. Now, I am a club leader at our local Young Life and happily share the message of Jesus. I have found who I am because I now know whose I am.
As a Developing Global Leader, I will attend a local university and pursue a degree in clinical science. My hope is to one day become a lecturer at the university level. It is important for others to show and share Jesus in all facets of their lives. To truly live a life of ministry, we must be confident and courageous enough to tell others about Jesus. I aspire to make a better life for not only myself but also my community.
