My name has been changed for security purposes, but please call me ‘Mira’. I live in North Africa with my parents and siblings. My earliest memories of happiness are filled with playing worn piano keys and singing along to the car radio with my family. Growing up, music wasn't just a hobby; it was a source of hope during loss, war, and economic hardship. Music became my language as a child, a way to express emotions I couldn't grasp. It soothed me in times of sadness, energized me during moments of doubt, and fueled my creativity in ways nothing else could. It is God’s kindness that He would grace me with this musical talent.
Since childhood, I have attended mass every Sunday. The heartfelt sermons by the priest and the music from the choir have always captivated me. Whether it's the shared joy of a concert or the solace found in a quiet melody, music speaks a universal language. I currently serve in our church choir and as a leader for our local Young Life. These roles allow me the opportunity to use my gifts for God’s glory. I believe that music has the power to bring people closer to one another and closer to God.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am attending a local university to earn a degree in music education. I am deeply passionate about using music to positively impact the lives of young people and inspire them to explore their faith. Having personally experienced how music can provide comfort and joy, I understand what a tremendous impact it can have on others. With the Lord’s guidance, I am excited to embark on this journey to share the beauty of music.
