Yura
Yura is a young and faithful minister whose name and location have been changed for security reasons. He was born in Belarus to a Christian family with five children. Despite this, he often felt lonely and abandoned. At school, he had to go through bullying not only from his peers but also from teachers, which left a negative imprint on him. Also, the recent death of his mother from a serious illness had a significant impact on Yura's life. But despite this, his father, a pastor, always cultivated the right values in him and took him to church, where he eventually met the living God. According to him, having met God, he finally stopped feeling empty and lonely.
Since his early teens, Yura has been familiar with the Young Life ministry based in their church. Attending Young Life camps contributed to his spiritual development and growth. The Young Life team became his family, believing in his potential. With such encouragement, Yura joined the mission and now actively serves the teenagers of his city, because he wants each of them to experience a personal encounter with Christ.
Since his childhood, Yura’s hobby has been building computers and improving old computers to make them work better and longer. As a student in the Developing Global Leaders program, he is studying technical operation of telecommunications facilities and systems. His university has become a "safe place" where learning is interesting and enjoyable. He hopes that this specialty will help him become a successful businessman and enable him to fulfill and expand his current ministry even more effectively.
