Mncedisi

My name is Mncedisi, and I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Growing up, I faced significant challenges, including poverty, emotional abuse, and rejection. Despite these hardships, these experiences taught me to love, forgive, and understand others more deeply. Challenging times have proven to be the most significant in my walk with the Lord. When my mother lost her job, I was simultaneously struggling with school. I felt such despair. Turning to the Lord in prayer, He was gracious enough to provide a new job and to help me remain diligent with my academics. The peace He provided was immeasurable. My faith has played a crucial role in my life. As a child, I knew I should go before the Lord with prayer, but I did not know what a true relationship with the Lord looked like until eighth grade. It was then that my Young Life leader invited me to an outreach camp. During that camp, my faith grew significantly as I began to experience the Lord on a deeper level. I knew I wanted to walk with Him all my days and share His love with others. As a Developing Global Leader, I am committed to attending university and earning a degree in environmental science. This degree will enable me to create a better future for my family and community by providing jobs and contributing to environmental sustainability. I believe God's creation is remarkable, and I am dedicated to demonstrating this through my work. In the DGL program, I hope to empower and support the next generation of leaders to make a positive impact on youth in our community.
