My name is Wammy. I live far away from home in Manzini, a city in Eswatini. Growing up, I was the bubbly little girl with big dreams. But I was too positive for some, I was an enigma. While I found comfort at church and school, I did not feel the same at home. Throughout my childhood, I lacked affection and love. When my father wasn’t drinking and shouting, he was sober and shouting. I knew I had to leave. I had to discover my worth.
While living in a hostel during high school, I was in a pit of unforgiveness and anger, harboring so much negativity. While in my room, Christ confronted me and I began to weep. He asked, “Why was I crying about being alone when he was always on my side?” He removed my anger when I received Him as my Lord and Savior and began working in unique ways. He introduced me to Young Life through a stranger’s t-shirt! It was my favorite color and had bold letters of Young Life. I was intrigued and asked about it. Shortly afterward, I was invited to club. Once there, I found much joy and acceptance! I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of so much goodness.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am pursuing an accounting degree from Regent Business School. I want to break the barrier of generational poverty and become the first in my family to earn a college degree. I desire to become an auditor because I am fascinated by finance and want to be an honest business person. Above all, I want others to fall in love with Jesus.
