My name is Raul and I live in a small city with my parents, and three older brothers in Mexico. I frequently help my dad in his business. It was difficult to go without basic needs being the last child in my family and feeling alone during family conflicts since there were problems with my parents and their families. I felt like I was growing up alone and without attention; I really thought I didn't deserve love. I grew in independence quickly, basically living on my own and working in order to help myself and my family.
From a very young age, I attended a church where they talked about Jesus and the Bible. When I was twelve years old, I understood the gospel, and I wanted to have Christ in my life. I understood that God loves me, I am not alone and that he sees me all the time and is watching over me. I prayed to God and later learned that I was destined to serve him. My desire for God continued to grow. My older brother invited me to attend a Young Life club for the first time and something happened there. I felt loved and accepted. Now I understand that God wants me to extend that same love with those who do not yet know him.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am currently studying automotive industrial engineering at a local university. I hope to work in a company that allows me to have financial solvency and time to serve. I dream for more young people to learn about Jesus and I would like my example to impact their lives. I want to continue developing skills to coordinate more clubs and other activities that help reach more kids.
