Widley

My Name is Widley, I live with my mother, stepfather, sister and my grandmother in Haiti. I have never met my father. In my childhood, I experienced great difficulties, and because of my bad behavior, I was criticized often by people in my neighborhood and I
struggled with my family.

Meeting Jesus was not easy. I didn't really have anyone around me to influence me to follow the church path. Until one day, I decided to accept Jesus during an evangelization campaign in the public square of Mirebalais. It was during the last day of an unforgettable experience that I surrendered my soul to Christ. After my meeting with Jesus, my mother accompanied me to church and encouraged me to firmly participate in Bible studies; that's how changes started to happen in my life. Now I thank God for putting me in the Young Life ministry to not only help strengthen my faith, but also to work with young people in my community to introduce them to Christ.

Now as a Developing Global Leader, my hope and objective regarding education is to excel in many areas of life and thus achieve my dreams to be able to have a successful career, without moving away from the presence of Jesus Christ as my first and last hope. I am studying civil engineering at Renaissance Christian University of Central Haiti. My dream is to continue working with the kids in my club to do the work of discipleship, to develop new leaders, lead new clubs and see all these young people be able to serve the regions where they live, in their churches, and their community.
