I am Andronique and I live in Lascahobas, Haiti. After my parents died, when I was only nine years old, I went to live with my godmother. At first there was a lot of love, her affection was essential while enduring the unbearable distress that I was experiencing deep down. The more I grew, the more the love decreased. I felt empty because my parents had left me. I knew about suffering, pain and going through bad times, but I chose to live with the principles and discipline that I was taught as a child. It wasn’t until I finished ninth grade that I became more self-aware. Life started to get complicated, and I started missing school to work as a painter just to be able to meet my needs.
In 2002 through a missionary group, I felt the need to start walking with Jesus, after a vibrant message heard about Christ. Later I met someone who helped me both morally and spiritually, and sometimes economically, which allowed me to succeed in my spiritual life. Now I am baptized, and I will continue to persevere. He also introduced me to Young Life and I decided to be part of the ministry.
As a Developing Global Leader, I have the opportunity to study business at State University of Haiti to make my dreams come true. My dream for the ministry is to continue searching for friends to share with them the love of Christ that is in me. I want to do everything I can to keep this ministry alive. I want the world to know this friend called Jesus, especially the teenagers.
