My name is Marcos, and I live in the city of Pachuca with some friends. After my birth, my dad immigrated to the United States due to lack of economic resources, and I had three very good years of provision. After my dad returned to Mexico, he fell into addiction to alcohol and drugs. My father's addiction was gradual, from drinking only a little until we all ended up suffering violence, both physical and emotional. A great support for me and my brothers was the love of my mother, she never let us down. After finishing high school, I decided to leave the house because I couldn't bear my father's mistreatment. I went off the rails until I got to the point of taking drugs and being a bad son.
In January 2022, I had a motorcycle accident and suffered a very strong blow to my spine and the doctors told me that I may never be able to walk. I promised God that if he saved me, I would do whatever he wanted. When I regained my ability to walk upon recovery, a month later I heard about Young Life, and I decided to go to a camp. At camp, I met Jesus.
Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying agro-industry at Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo. I want to do everything possible to learn and make new formulas to create commercial foods and start new businesses so I can have the money to continue doing what God has placed in my heart to do. I mainly dream of opening a Young Life club for the students I meet at the university and improving myself academically. I hope to get to know many friends so that they also have a chance to know about Jesus through Young Life.
