Grace

My name is Grace, and I live with my older sister in Upper Caldwell Samukai, Liberia. As a child, I endured the struggle of my father not shouldering his responsibilities. Due to his negligence, I was put in a defenseless position where I was abused by someone close to me. It was devastating and I promised myself never to accept him as a father because he put me through so much pain.

However, I met Jesus at the most critical time of my life as a young lady who felt all alone. Jesus stepped in and changed my entire situation. I got connected to Young Life through a friend who was involved with club. I began to learn how to forgive others as I learned about God's grace. After hearing the message of forgiveness, I called my father and let go of everything. Now I am a Young Life leader that walks with other young women who feel alone and have the opportunity to tell them about a God who never leaves.

As a Developing Global Leader, I envision myself learning beyond my expectations while attending the African Methodist Episcopal University. Getting a degree in business management, I hope I will be able to enlighten others on how to have a strategic plan to manage a business. I want to be able to help people who share that same desperate situation I once experienced.
