My name is Paul, and I am from a small town in Eswatini. I live with my parents and my seven siblings. Growing up, my greatest life challenge occurred when my parents could no longer afford my school fees, which led to my expulsion. In addition, I was being mocked by my peers for coming from a poor family. Having grown up in a Christian home, I struggled to accept Jesus Christ because I thought it was unfair to give my family such an unfortunate life. Devastated but determined, I plead my case to the school administrator. Gratefully, they allowed me to work after school to pay my fees.
These challenges led me to explore my faith outside of my church. I accepted an invitation to attend our local Young Life. There, our financial status no longer mattered, and I felt welcomed and at home. I began to see and experience Jesus as the loving Father He was all along. I started my relationship with Him and today, I serve as an area leader. I am able to share how God is my provider and protector, blessing me with an open heart to welcome and help the needy.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am attending University of Eswatini to earn a degree in agribusiness management. My vision is to develop methods to improve soil use and increase the production of food and fiber crops, helping small businesses grow. My hope is that it will open more leadership opportunities in farming and business. I want to encourage youth entrepreneurship, ultimately reducing unemployment and poverty in our society. I hope to teach young people to love and support one another through the love of Jesus Christ.
