Clement lives in Ghana, a West African country located in the Gulf of Guinea. As a child, Clement's parents had a turbulent relationship, so his grandmother raised him. Gratefully, Clement found his strongest connection and source of affection with her. She nurtured him, encouraged his education, and took him to church. When she passed away, Clement experienced great heartache. His grandmother's presence in his life brought him great peace, and without her, he felt lost and alone.
A turning point in his life was when a friend invited him to Young Life. He began to witness first-hand how full life could be walking with Jesus and being supported by a community of believers. When Clement decided to be baptized, he gained a sense of purpose and direction. As a child, his grandmother was his example of unconditional love. As a young adult, he found that his relationship with his Heavenly Father was life-giving beyond measure. He once again felt loved, wanted, and secure. The peace he gained in his relationship with Jesus reignited his passion for education and for serving others.
As a Developing Global Leader, Clement is pursuing a degree in education from the University of Education in Winneba. His goal is to teach social studies to the kids in his community. Ultimately, Clement wishes to be a source of hope and empowerment for those in Ghana. He sees education as a tool that will open doors for himself and others while providing opportunities to share the love of Jesus.
