Mikiyas

Mikiyas Sintayehu is a wise, reliable and patient leader that lives in Modjo, Ethiopia. He comes from a low-income family where it was difficult to even have his basic needs met. His mother even went abroad to earn enough money to fend for him and his siblings when they were about to be forced to drop out of school. The money was just enough to fund the completion of their studies in public schools. However, it was not enough to further accomplish his educational goals. He therefore began to fend for himself after high school, looking for work at every opportunity, cultivating a work ethic and passion to work hard to accomplish his dreams.

Life took a turn for Mikiyas in middle school when he began reading the Bible. Also, a friend invited him to Young Life club where he found great joy in the club games, songs, and the messages. Later, he went to camp and gave his life to Jesus Christ.  He continues to grow in his faith as he leads club and is actively involved in his church fellowship.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Miki wiIl be the first to graduate from college in his family and he is majoring in business management at Modjo University. His vision is to excel in his career and use it to shine the light of Jesus Christ in every opportunity for leadership and be an example in his community.
