My name is Kudzaishe, and I live in the city of Masvingo in Zimbabwe with my five siblings. As I began high school, my life took a drastic turn when my father passed away. In such grief, I lost my way. Struggling with peer pressure and lacking guidance, I fell into drug addiction and misconduct, leading to my suspension from school. During this challenging period, I found myself at a crossroads, deeply troubled and lost.
During my suspension, a friend invited me to a local church, where I encountered Jesus Christ for the first time. This moment marked a profound change in my life. I accepted Christ and began to rebuild myself. I saw a new future as I returned to school and started making different choices. Shortly after, I faced another devastating blow with the loss of my mother. However, this loss was different because I knew I ultimately had a Heavenly Father and was not hopeless. Even though I felt the tremendous weight of responsibility to support my siblings, I found solace in the fact that I was not alone. My faith has been a guiding light during these hardships.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am pursuing a degree in urban planning and development from Great Zimbabwe University with the goal of becoming the first college graduate in my family. My dream was born out of my interest and passion to influence the structure and appearance of our town, to modernize it, and to turn my imagination into reality.
